Crucero Viejo Farm - Innovation and Sustainability in Grazing Dairy Farming

INIA Remehue - Research in Dairy Farming and Sustainability
In Osorno, the field of milk and beef, INIA Remehue is a leading center for agricultural research and innovation. During this visit, you'll explore their state-of-the-art robotic dairy farm, where advanced technology optimizes the milking process. The center is also conducting groundbreaking research on the use of algae to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions in livestock. Nestlé Cancura – Good food good life
Nestlé Cancura stands as a pinnacle of dairy production excellence. Established over a decade ago, the factory processes fresh milk from more than 300 local dairy producers, emphasizing sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices. In 2022, Nestlé expanded the facility's capabilities to include the production of NIDAL infant formulas, making it the sole producer of such products in Chile. This visit offers a unique opportunity to explore a state-of-the-art dairy facility committed to innovation, sustainability, and meeting the demands of both local and international markets.
Los Pellines Farm - Enhancing Productivity Through Efficient Grazing and Animal genetics
This dairy farm, located near Puerto Octay, is a prime example of productivity through efficient grazing, optimized animal nutrition, and selective breeding. With over 34 years of experience, his owner has focused on rotational grazing and high-quality forage to maximize milk production while maintaining cow health. His strategic feeding programs and genetic selection ensure a herd with superior traits for milk yield, solids, and longevity. This visit offers valuable insights into practical methods for enhancing dairy farm efficiency and productivity in the beautiful landscapes of southern Chile.

Los Zanjones Farm - Transitioning to a Housed System with Sustainability Goals
Los Zanjones Dairy Farm is transitioning to a housed dairy system to enhance operational efficiency and animal welfare. The farm is also in the process of obtaining “Chile Origen Consciente” certification in sustainability, an initiative from the Ministry of Agriculture, led by Consorcio Lechero, highlighting its commitment to environmentally, socially, and economically responsible practices. This visit offers valuable insights into the challenges and benefits of this transformation in the middle of a traditionally grazing dairy region, with a focus on improving milk production and sustainable farm management.

The dairy farm holds the "Chile Origen Consciente" certification, awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture and led by Consorcio Lechero, demonstrating its commitment to responsible and sustainable practices. In addition, Pozo Brujo produces its own forages, optimizing costs and enhancing traceability in production. The company employs advanced technology to improve feeding efficiency and streamline production processes. With rigorous control over all operational variables, Pozo Brujo aims to maximize efficiency without compromising animal welfare or environmental integrity.
El Maitén Farm - Embracing the NZ Dairy System with high efficiency and sustainability
This farm is managed by a first-generation dairy farming family. Years ago, they became interested in the dairy business and decided to start from scratch, researching and exploring various dairy models to choose the one that best suited their project. As a result, they adopted the New Zealand grazing model, aiming to maximize efficiency in pasture and resource use, creating a highly efficient system without compromising animal welfare and adhering to sustainable practices. This seasonal dairy farm is currently certified under the "Chile Origen Consciente" program for sustainability.

Ancali - Exploring the World’s Largest Robotic Dairy Farm
Located in Los Ángeles, Ancali is recognized as the world’s largest robotic dairy farm, featuring 90 units of the Voluntary Milking System (VMS). This advanced system efficiently manages 5,800 milking cows, producing approximately 73 million liters of high-quality milk annually. The automated system not only enhances milking efficiency but also monitors animal health and optimizes labor resources, setting a global standard for excellence in dairy farming. On its path toward more sustainable production, Ancali has implemented a biodigester and produces its own forages and raw materials. Ancali exemplifies how technological innovation and sustainable practices can be integrated, maintaining high production standards while deeply respecting the environment and animal welfare.

Rondadero Farm - A Dairy Tradition Embracing the Shift to Automation
Rondadero, a family-owned dairy farm with over 75 years of tradition, is transitioning to a fully robotic milking system, currently operating three robots with plans for further expansion. The farm produces an average of 42.2 liters of milk per cow daily. All of their milk is sold directly to their own processing plant, where they produce two traditional types of Chilean cheese. This integrated model blends modern technology with deep-rooted family values, reflecting their commitment to quality, sustainability, and agricultural heritage.

A leading company in the Chilean dairy industry, with over 70 years of experience in the production and distribution of high-quality dairy products. Its plant in Santiago, specializes in the production of yogurt, desserts, and long-life (UHT) milk. This facility has been key in adopting innovative technologies, which extends shelf life and facilitates distribution. A visit to this plant will offer a close look at the production processes, the implementation of advanced technologies, and the commitment to quality and innovation in its dairy products.
Housed Farm – Dairying with sustainability in the central valley
A family-owned business dedicated to dairy farming that has received the sustainable farm certification “Chile Origen Consciente,” awarded by the Ministry of Agriculture and led by Consorcio Lechero. This certification highlights the farm's commitment to sustainability, animal welfare, and environmental protection.

La Rotunda Farm – Integrating tradition, diversification, and sustainability
La Rotunda is a third-generation dairy farm that has developed a competitive, high-quality, and cost-efficient dairy operation, with a strong focus on sustainability and social responsibility. The farm hous in compost barns around 1.000 Holstein-American cows, carefully managed through advanced genetic selection and specialized feeding protocols. Around 30% of the milk produced is used to make "mantecoso" cheese, while the farm also diversifies into grape production, forage crops, and fruit trees. La Rotunda is a pioneer in agricultural and technological innovation in Chile, blending modern practices with a deep commitment to sustainability and responsible farming, receiving the "Chile Origen Consciente" certification for sustainability.
